Ratting In Providence

Sanshas are the local NPC pirates you will encounter while ratting in greater providence.  They deliver EM and Thermal Damage while being susceptible to EM and Thermal Damage.  Ensuring that your ship is setup for EM and Thermal damage types will greatly increase your survive ability.

Anomalies

Anomalies are ranked in difficulty by 10 levels with the Sansha burrow being the easiest and the Sansha Sanctum being the hardest.  Each level can have three additional levels of difficulty, (ie: Hidden, Forsaken, Forlorn).  Below is a list of the 10 levels of anomalies.

  • Sansha Burrow (easiest)
  • Sansha Hideaway
  • Sansha Refuge
  • Sansha Den
  • Sansha Yard
  • Sansha Rally Point
  • Sansha Port
  • Sansha Hub
  • Sansha Haven
  • Sansha Sanctum (hardest)

Most of the anomalies you will see in Providence are the Sansha Rally Point, Port, Hub, Haven and Sanctum.  infrastructure hubs in each system in providence have upgrades that are installed to gain more anomalies. Systems that do not have a Sansha Hub or Haven in them despite the military index is at 5, then the infrastructure hub needs to have an upgrade installed for the newer anomalies to show up.

Race

Race of the ship you are going to use for ratting will determine what is better suited for Sansha ratting. Amarr ships have great armor resistances for EM and Thermal.  However, Minmatar have great shield resistances for EM and Thermal.

Ships

Shield ships allow you to focus on DPS instead of utility. Remember that not all ships are created equal so study up on the ships.  Eve University has a great article on natural resistances and I ask you to read it to find a ship that meets your needs for resists.

Vexor Navy Issue is the most common ratting ship in providence, and can be used by an alpha clone state (which can be a bonus for getting isk for your main character).  This ship you will want to put a 100mn afterburner on the ship and orbit target at 50km deploy drones on aggressive and watch local until your site is completed.  You may need to recall your drones during waves as sometimes your drones will be targeted and killed.

If you are attacked and the individual or group is not KOS to Provibloc you can file a KOS Request.  This will ensure that in the future you will be notified in intel channels of the red fleets movements and help others not get attacked as well.
